Using UMANG App and Digital Locker (उमंग ऐप और डिजीलॉकर)
Under the vision of Digital India, the Government of India has launched two revolutionary mobile and cloud platforms that eliminate the need to carry physical paper documents: DigiLocker and the UMANG App.
In almost every NIELIT CCC exam, multiple questions test the features, legal validity, and services of DigiLocker and UMANG.
1. DigiLocker (डिजिटल लॉकर - डिजिटल दस्तावेज़)
DigiLocker is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY). It is a secure digital document wallet hosted in the cloud, linked to your 12-digit Aadhaar Number.

You can pull electronic copies of official government records directly from issuing authorities:
Driving License (DL) and Vehicle Registration (RC) from Ministry of Road Transport.
10th & 12th Marksheets & Certificates from CBSE, UP Board, and NIOS.
Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, and Caste/Income certificates.

Legal Validity (वैधानिक मान्यता):
Under Rule 9A of the Information Technology (Preservation and Retention of Information by Intermediaries Providing Digital Locker Facilities) Rules, 2016, electronic documents in DigiLocker are legally at par with original physical paper documents!
Traffic police, transport officers, and airport security are mandated by law to accept DigiLocker Driving Licenses and Identity proofs!

2. UMANG App (उमंग ऐप)
UMANG stands for Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (नए युग के शासन के लिए एकीकृत मोबाइल एप्लिकेशन).
Developed by MeitY and NeGD, UMANG is an "All-in-One" single mobile application that integrates central government ministries, state government departments, and local municipal bodies onto a single mobile dashboard.
