Visual movement brings excitement to a lecture. However, many students and beginners confuse Slide Transitions with Custom Animations.

In the NIELIT CCC examination, questions testing the difference between transitions and animations are asked frequently.

2. Slide Transitions (स्लाइड ट्रांजिशन)

A Transition is the visual motion effect that occurs in the transition phase when one slide exits and the next slide enters the screen during a slide show.

Configuring Transitions in LibreOffice Impress:

In the right-hand Sidebar deck, click the Slide Transition icon.

Choose from transition effects (Wipe, Wheel, Dissolve, Fade).

Modify Transition Properties:

Duration: Speed of transition (e.g. 1.0 second).
Sound: Optional audio chime when the slide changes.

Advance Slide (स्लाइड आगे बढ़ाना):

On mouse click: Slide advances only when you click the mouse or press Spacebar.
Automatically after X seconds: Advances automatically without manual intervention (ideal for automated kiosk displays!).

"Apply Transition to All Slides": Click this button to enforce a consistent transition across your entire presentation.

3. Custom Animations (ऑब्जेक्ट एनिमेशन)

Animations control how individual elements (bullet points, photos, titles) appear, emphasize, and disappear on a slide.

Animation effects are divided into four categories:

Entrance (प्रवेश): How the object appears on the slide (e.g. Fly In from bottom, Zoom In).

Emphasis (प्रभाव): Draws attention to an already visible object (e.g. Spin, Pulse, Change Color).

Exit (प्रस्थान): How an object leaves the slide (e.g. Fly Out, Fade Away).
4
Motion Paths (गति पथ): Guides an object along a custom geometric trajectory (e.g. a car moving across the screen along a curve).
