Slide Layouts and Master Slide (स्लाइड लेआउट और मास्टर स्लाइड)
Consistency is the mark of a professional presentation. If every slide has different fonts, haphazard headings, and misaligned logos, the presentation looks amateurish.
Presentation software solves this through Slide Layouts (स्लाइड लेआउट) and the Master Slide (मास्टर स्लाइड).
1. What is a Slide Layout? (स्लाइड लेआउट क्या है?)
A Slide Layout arranges placeholders on a slide into standard pedagogical configurations:
Title Slide (टाइटल स्लाइड): Designed for the opening slide. Contains two large centered boxes for the presentation Title and Subtitle / Presenter Name.
Title and Content (शीर्षक और सामग्री - सबसे लोकप्रिय): Standard layout for body slides with a top heading box and a large bullet/media box below.
Title and 2 Content (Two Columns): Splits the body into two parallel columns—ideal for side-by-side comparisons (e.g. Advantages vs Disadvantages).
Blank Slide (खाली स्लाइड): A clean canvas without any placeholders, ideal for full-screen photo displays or diagrams.
2. What is a Master Slide? (मास्टर स्लाइड क्या है?)
A Master Slide (Slide Master) is the master blueprint that controls the universal design properties of every single slide in your presentation:
Background color and gradient themes.
Title font family, size, and color.
Default bullet point shapes and colors.
Institute Logo placement and copyright footer text.
The Power of Master Slide:
If you have a 100-slide presentation and your institute decides to change its logo or background color:
- Without Master Slide: You would have to open 100 slides individually and paste the new logo 100 times!
- With Master Slide: You open the Master Slide once, paste the logo in the top-right corner, and it appears automatically across all 100 slides in a single second!
How to Access Master Slide in LibreOffice Impress:
Click View menu $\implies$ Master Slide.
To return to regular slide editing, click Close Master View.
